Both taken with SL2,  APO 35 SC, and Fotos,  The flowers are just under 1' (30 cm) high.  Needed Fotos to compose, focus, and expose. as camera was on a tabletop tripod, pointing up.

SL2 and L 60 Macro. First one is a real photo only processed to get perfect symmetry. Second one is a processed one - for me an electronic face. Take it with a grain of humor in this sad time ...

Sympathy and love between different species of flowers. Of course arranged, but real photos. 1 and 2 with SL2 and L Macro 60 mm, third one with Canon MP-E 65 on SL2.

So whilst spending a lot of time at home recovering from COVID I've been thinking outside the limitations of the sensors normal aspect ratio.

There are plenty of pixels to spare with the SL2.

Hasselblad SWC equivalent with 4.5/15 SW CVIII ASPH works quite well as per the digital SWC thread.

Today I simulated the Hasselblad X-Pan which with its 45mm lens for panorama gives an approximate 74° horizontal angle of view.
Accepting there is probably more distortion at the edges ( I need to borrow my friend's X-Pan again to properly compare) I used my 3.8/24 Elmar-M ASPH with it's angle of view of 73.7°.
The EVF was set to an aspect ratio 1:3 and B&W to guide composition.
I know I could just shoot and crop but it's to the same as looking through the viewfinder in a panorama aspect.

Just tried it out for the first time today in the local park today on our walk (within allowed COVID restrictions)

and while we're at it with SL2 pics,  I'm just starting to work through my Antarctica photos from when we were there last month. We were on the Greg Mortimer, the trip before it was riddled with COVID and stranded of Montevedeo. Fortunately no COVID on our trip, we contracted it later...

Holly sh*t ... were you on the trip with Peter Eastway btw?

nice shot, send more ...
