Dwarf Mongooses @ Mwiba s. Serengeti Tanzania - extremely difficult to photograph due to their small size, secretive nature & the speed they move at.

There's no shortage of prey where she's nesting in a Fever Tree above a series of natural springs, with thousands of Queleas around (see next post).

She's a she, her mate is also hanging around, as in most Eagles he's smaller in size. Here's a an image of him sitting at the nest at sunset. He's a much lighter Eagle, more typical tawny in colour.

Red-billed Queleas (Quelea quelea). Queleas are the most abundant wild Bird on the planet, estimated population is about 1.5 billion. They occur in flocks of hundreds of thousands & can resemble a cloud. These tiny birds (about 8cm) are native to Sub-Saharan Africa.

My wife & Nuhu one of our most experienced guides in Tanzania.  She's spent the past 18 months designing & now setting up 2 semi-permanent safari camps in the Maswa & Mwiba areas of the Serengeti. Meanwhile I've been swanning around taking pictures....🤭
