Example 1  Houston Pilot Boat from Galveston-Bolivar Ferry  Texas

SL2, 90-280 lens, focal length 145mm, f 5.6, ISO 100, 1/640 second, image stablization on, exposure compensation -1/3 stop

All signs on pilot boat readable down to limit of resolution of sensor.

Example 2 American White Pelican near sunset  - Seabrook, Texas

SL2, 90-280 lens, focal length 280mm, f 9.0, ISO 320, 1/500 second, image stablization on, exposure compensation -1/3 stop

Sensor recorded everything from feather detail to dark areas on piling, bright and dark areas easily recovered with Lightroom Classic 9.0

My conclusion is that the SL2 dng files are very workable and  -1/3 seems to provide enough brightness headroom for challenging situations.

SL2 with 35 SL-SC

Nice pictures, Scott.  The SL2 produces wonderful skin tones.  Either you left the tint slider too far towards magenta or C1, which I believe you use, doesn’t support the SL2 with profiles, yet.

Thanks.  These were auto WB at about 3:30 pm (an hour before sunset), unmodified by me.  COne provides a default profile and I postprocess considerably, so I haven't worried about waiting for a camera-specific protocol from them.  Unlike with Adobe, what you do with COne is under your control.

Here's another pixel-plus resolution test with the 35 SL-SC.  The convention center in Vancouver (rendered at 50%):

and a crop of a tiny portion in which you can see an interior wall of textured wooden blocks a few pixels across:

Here are a few photos from the Leica SL2 Launch Event at the Leica Store Boston. The event was Sat, 12/7. The entire Boston team pulled off a great event. Kudos to the rep, John Kreidler as well. What a professional!

It was very cold during the photo walk, so not my best shots, but should illustrate some of what the camera can do. Out of respect for your internet connections (and time) all photos are in SOOC JPEG.

I used the 24-90, auto ISO, metering=Center-weighted, Focus - Field, AF enabled as was OIS. The one head shot was shot with the 75 F2 Summicron SL with Eye-AF turned on
