In the last couple of days I have shown here some photos taken during my hiking vacation in Austria. Thanks to all who did take a look! For those who are interested - here is the link to a webpage build with Adobe's spark (part of the CC package) showing the entire series. For me it has been interesting to see that one can easily mix SL2 and Q in such a series.

@Joe Colson Joe, these are getting better and better every day, you make the 90-280 zoom sing. How do you make those burds pose for you and so close? Inspiration. Well done buddy.

Thanks very much. The trick is to attract the birds to a convenient camera location. In my case, the feeder(s) are just outside our kitchen and all of the shots are taken through a double-pane glass window. I put more detail on my website here. The 90-280mm lens is superb. With OIS and IBIS, even an old man like me can capture a sharp image. Stay safe and be well.

Thanks for sharing. There are many in Leica SL/2 community who find the 90-280mm to heavy & bulky....eventually selling it off. Yet there are others just say that 90-280mm is useless for birding as the range is too short.

You have shown good example of a successful way of bringing the birds closer to you rather than doubling or tripling your lens focal length to get them. The most valuable asset we have are our brains not to mention so much more advantageous for shooting with a shorter telephoto or zoom lens.
I use my 90-280mm lots too and just love it. I find doing international travel before the pandemic with 90-280mm is kind of the limit on lens size I find comfortable.

Even back home, my 90-280mm is my go to lens capturing the birds that come by my yard.

In fact most of the chrome is sparkling.  A testament to the quality of chrome plating!

It’s the cats that own us.  That’s the old story about the difference between a dog and a cat.  You treat a dog well and he things you’re god.  You treat a cat well and she knows she’s god.
