Beautifully shot. These creatures are no larger than palm size. You must be positioned near. Did it land in your backyard?

Thank you, much appreciate your comment.

I was on a walk through the coastal forest on Benguerra Island in Mozambique. Two Bee-eaters landed in the tree in front of me no more than 5 metres away,  I managed to get the shot before they took off again.

Bee-eaters & Kingfishers are right up there among my most favourite birds.

Here's a Malachite Kingfisher (Corythornis cristatus) from the same walk. He's about the size of my small finger, even smaller than the Bee-eaters.

Both Kingfisher & Bee eaters are my favourite BIF subjects. They're colourful plus their sleek shape in flight makes them popular subjects of many photographers. They're also challenging to capture in BIF due to their size and speed. In relation to the closer distance often required between photographer & subject due to the size of the bird means managing the flyby speed at closer distance a greater challenge than capturing a bigger bird at a longer distance.
