Hi Louis, great to hear from you, I hope you are well.

I sold all my Leica TL lenses some time ago. I still have a sigma one but I have not tried it on the FP yet. The lack of EVF bothers me tbh, but on the other hand I can cope with it. At the moment I enjoy shooting with the FP, it has a nice feeling when I use it and the images are very nice, but I am thinking seriously of getting the EVF. The problem is that a) it is very expensive and b) it alters the aesthetics and shape of the camera, so I am still undecided. Overall my relationship with the FP is still a mixture of positive feelings in terms of haptics and image quality (also size of course), but frustration as well with the lack of EVF and the AF that is not as snappy as that of other cameras.

If you decide to use APS-C lenses with the FP it makes more sense to look at the FP-L as then you will have a good number of megapixels with the crop.

Another camera you should look at (but it is a bit heavier) is the Panasonic S5. Good image quality and good price.

All the best, K

Dear Kostas, so good to find you here and to have this conversation.

I have really been enjoying CL. It goes perfectly well with my photography. I still remember the joy we both had when it was announced. But almost 5 years have passed since, and ,we are hearing so much rumors about Leica abandoning APS-C all together that I am thinking about my next steps if that really happened!

Somehow, I am not crazy about Panasonic and Sigma is the only other that is taking L lenses that I really like. But I don’t see myself using a camera like a cellular and the camera looks really weird and uncomfortable with the EVF and its other expensive accessories. I don’t think this system is for me!

I think all I have to do for now is to  be patient and wait to see what Leica finally  would decide. For the moment, I am quite satisfied with my CL.

Be well and safe, dear friend.

Kind regards,

Louis

Another fun afternoon at the WineHouse this was taken with the 75mm 7 Artisans f 1.25 at f 2.0 at a Spanish wine class. It's a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

A friend had a backyard art show, his photos and some paintings by another person at night, they looked like they were floating in air. Shot with a 35 summicron Ver 1 something a little different.

Ok leaving a Sparkling Wine class last night, it's a rough life but someone has to do it. I came across a wedding party leaving a restaurant and it was just family and friends taking pic's at the end so I asked if I could take one. Shot with the 75mm f 1.25 at 1.4 I should have stopped down a little more but too much Sparkling.

I went to the Library of Congress on Sat. and took 3 of my low cost Chinese lenses to use with my Sigma fp.

21mm f 1.5 TT Artisans, the 28mm f 1.4 7 Artisans "fe plus" version,  and the 75mm f 1.25. Both the 21mm and the 28mm were shot at f4.0 while the portrait was shot wide open with the 75mm at f 1.25 with window light.

Well I need you all to tell me if this works or not.

I took a day trip to Richmond Va to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, it was the last day of the "Man Ray the Paris Years"  show and I took a picture in their sculpture garden

After the show I went back out and retook the same shot just different. Enjoy or not just let me know, thanks!  This was shot with the TT Artisan 28mm f5.6.
