I slowly start to get to like the b/w conversions from the Q, though I do prefer working with monochrom files.

Just got back from a trip to the Oregon coast.  Our first stop was the Columbia Gorge for some waterfalls.  Latourell Falls is one of my favorites.

Our second stop was Fort Stevens State Park at the mouth of the Columbia River.  There is a shipwreck at the beach that has been there since 1909.  Not too much left today.

First shot at near low tide and second the day before at mid tide.

Great shot.  A tribute to your skill and the Q2.  I think I would crop the arm from the right side as it is kind of prominent.

Thank you so much for your input, Aram.

Actually, I've really struggled with understanding what is the best crop for this (the original image is much_wider). I retained the arm on the right side because it keeps the main subject right in the center, and it gives the feeling of him standing out in the crowd with depth. But maybe it _is_ just too distracting, as you say.

Below is the original, completely uncropped.

Monochrom files are easier to edit, but with some patience I am finding converting can look as good.  The Q2 and the SL2-S do B&W very well.  I sold my Q2M to the dismay of many.

Sophie & Stitch.

Whilst everyone is hunting the lesser spotted Q3 in the wild, I picked up a cheap Q2 for travel.

My model seems happier than usual (so it's good to capture this short space of time).

"Cheap?"  Maybe less expensive than the Q3, but still a pretty penny.  I actually sold my Q2M and picked up a Q2 Reporter.  47MP is more than enough for me so the Q2 will be all I will need.  Nice flesh tones here on the young one, btw!

Thank you for showing this.  It is less distracting in this shot, but I do like the tighter crop as it simplifies the composition without all the distractions.  The Q2 28mm offers a lot of possibilities. And with 47MP and an ultra sharp lens it can easily allow us to  explore those possibilities.

The Q2 may be underrated as a monochrome camera.  I have seen enough now that I have sold my Q2M and purchased an used Q2 Reporter to go with my SL2-S.  Great work.

I was also thinking about a Q2M.. but I am totally happy with the monochrome results of the Q2

The Q2 reporter would go great with my SL2-S reporter... thanks for teasing me :D

Well, I did have to match my SL2-S Reporter after all.  I found it like new used from MPB.  The SL2_S does a good job with B&W as well, but I am going to mainly use the Q2 for my mono going forward.  You are posting great work.

Q2

First outing with a new-to-me Q2 Reporter and spotted this red Edsel in a business parking lot. Had to take a shot.
Edsel was a make of car and a new car making division introduced by the Ford Motor Company on September 4, 1957. The company called that day, "E-Day." It was named after Henry Ford's son, Edsel Ford. The Edsel was also one of the biggest failures in history. It was sold for only three years, ending in 1960.
