Some more underwater shots with the Q2 & Subal's Q2 Mark III underwater housing. These were taken in Grand Cayman during dives at the USS Kittiwake wreck & along the North Wall, where the volcanic formation of the island drops down to 4000+ ft. deep. Most shots were taken between 70ft & 100ft deep using ISO 800 & f/5.6 & use natural light. I do think I will purchase a lighting kit for the housing, but maybe not for a little while. Unlike the Northeast, a wetsuit was NOT required as the water temperature was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit-glad I wasn't wearing mine!

Nice shots.  Not sure I would be brave enough to take a $6000 camera underwater, but I am glad you did and shared your experience.  Thanks

I picked up a Q2 Reporter a couple of days ago and the weather hasn't been the best so I had to test it out on the dogs... Pet pics isn't going to be the primary use case for my Q2. The reporter is going to be my out and about camera for when I don't want to carry a body and a bag full of lens. I think it will still go out in those cases as well, just saying.

Barrack and processed picures thereof - up to your fantasy, what that could be or mean.

Thank you very much! I’m always careful each time I dive with the camera, but you just have to trust the gear, and your ability to prepare everything properly for submersion. If you use any reputable housing correctly, then it doesn’t matter what camera is “inside the box” so to speak. There’s a reason reputable housings are often just as much as the cameras they enclose, but if you’re into diving & underwater photography, it’s a no brainer/necessary expense. Of course, I do have my camera and housing insured if a leak were to ruin the camera, but one reason why I like the Subal housing is it has a leak detection alarm so you know if your housing is properly sealed the second you take it underwater.

Thank you again for your comment! I hope to have more images to post soon!

Traditional Black Friday Christmas tree hunt in the national forest.  $5 Permit and off you go.

Finding the tree involves some walking.  This year there was some snow on the ground, but pretty easy.

Then in for the kill.  Strike low to fell the tree in its tracks before it runs away.

Hog tied and ready to roll.  Another successful hunt.

It is soaking up some water in the garage getting ready to be displayed.
