Is this made in the macro mode?

I miss some sharpness 🤔

Hi Ronald, Thanks for asking. There is sharpness, but its a very thin line and only visible when opened full size in C1. The compression and file size limitations aren't helping.But......I agree fully with your remark. I probably should have stopped down more. F 2.8 was too much for this subject. I am still getting used to the sensor size which makes it extra critical when focusing. It's certainly user error and not the camera's fault. Still learning. 😉

Best regards,

Martin.

Q2 - f 2.8 - 1/30 sec - iso 100 - DNG in Capture One Pro.

I don't know the name of this plant which is seen in large amounts this time of year in the woods.

But this little beauty surely caught my eye.

Best regards,

Martin.

Back from a month long trip.  In Yosemite, the dogwood were exceptional.  The weather was hot with boring blue skies and some wind, but I tried a few dogwood anyway.  With this one, I set the Q2 to continuous autofocus, put the spot on the flower and hoped it would keep up with the wind.  I think it worked pretty good.  Got quite a few shots to work through.  Trip was almost exclusively shot with Leica equipment, either the Q2 or the 35-70/4 R lens on my Nikon D750.

We tried a few night shots one day while in Yosemite.  I pulled up to Valley View and hopped out of the van and saw the strangest thing.  A whole line of lights moving across the sky to the east, one right after another.  Like a military convoy of planes.  One other person was there and he said they just started and he counted 36 of them so far.  I quickly set up the Q2 and did a rough manual focus on the stars and got this shot.  I was lucky.  I did not have time to play around with the focus or even where I was aiming the camera.  As it turn out I learned later these were satellites for the StarLink internet program of Elon Musk, the destroyer of astrophotography if you read some articles about that program.  So, here is my quick grab shot.  I guess there were 60 in all and I got the tail end.

f2.0, 8 sec, ISO 800.  Had to brighten it up quite a bit in LR.
