Playing Hide and Seek.  I was pruning a plant in my front rock garden when I saw this little toad hiding in the middle of the plant.  So well camouflaged that at first I wasn't sure what I was seeing.  Q2 on macro setting.

Homemade biscuits for breakfast, the perfect way to start my day. A 100 year old and three generation recipe that my wife has mastered and carries forward. Absolutely delicious! Leica Q2, 1/125, f/4, ISO 1000. Easy Peasy!

Ah - two nations divided by a (sort of) common language: it looks exactly like what we call a "scone". I remember once many years ago terrible confusion in a US airport when I was trying to get some buns for my breakfast: we eventually agreed on "muffins".

... and to add to the confusion, in the south we would call that a ‘cat head’ biscuit and add a side dish of red eye gravy 😉

What I want to know is how did you get it to remain still long enough to be photographed?  At my house it would be a complete blur as it would be snatched from the table before the camera could do its job.

How wonderful! I love the responses. A scone is sweeter than our biscuits. My wife described the biscuit as a palette to put something on. Jam. Butter. Honey. I have a photograph in the original hand of my friends mother who made the biscuits for me when I was very young. I’ll post it later today and feel free to use it for your own morning delights. Simple pleasures!
My wife will consult with any questions.

Siriusone 59. There’s only two of us at home now, so no competing for biscuits. Many years ago your comment was spot on. 😁
