Monochrom M-new style sensor corrosion?

Gentlemen,

My Monochrom M had the new style sensor installed by Leica NJ in Jan 2018. Here are the specs from the camera:

  • CCD ID: 53
  • CCD Board ID: 52
  • Control Brd ID: 52
  • M16 CD ID: 0

I recently took an image to check for dust. (It definitely needs cleaned.) When viewing the image I came across a spot that has me baffled. This attached file showing the spot is a small crop of the entire frame. Could it be corrosion or something else?

Your input would be appreciated. Hate to scratch this scab again but this spot worries me.

Best regards,

Garth

Hello,

if that is the only one black spot with white ring around, not evidence of corrosion.

White spots of corroded sensor are white with some halos and many more than one spot.

Example, here : this link

Sensor to be cleaned by a professional if possible.

Thanks for the replies and info.

I agree it doesn't look like the corrosion I experienced with the original CCD in my Monochrom. But I have never seen a spot like the one shown as was concerned that it may be a new issue. Anyway, thanks for pointing toward a good sensor cleaning. Probably should have done that first before posting this. Apologies for causing any unnecessary concern.

Regards
