effstop Posted October 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Good morning - As evidenced in the image below, I have a particle on the inside of the eyepiece that is driving me nuts. I've barely used the camera and noticed it today. Is there an easy way to remove it, or is it back to Leica? --Many thanks / Chris Welcome, dear visitor! dkmoore Posted October 27, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) Not without taking it all a part (not easy). You will need to send to Leica to fix. or, try to ignore it which would be difficult based on where it is. Edited October 27, 2019 by dkmoore
Peter Kilmister Posted October 27, 2019 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2019 It looks as if it could be an insect. Wait until it lays eggs and they hatch. You could win wildlife photographer of the year. To be serious ... send it to a repair shop.

Maxx71 Posted October 27, 2019 Share #5 Posted October 27, 2019 If you don’t mind it staying in the camera, just not on the eyepiece, try and “unstick” it. My understanding is that static electricity is making it stick. I’ve had this issue so what I did was moisten the eyepiece and tapped on the eyepiece gently with the tip of a pen with a lint cloth covering the eyepiece to avoid scratching. After 10 minutes I watched the piece of dust drop off the glass. I Don’t know where it is now but it’s not on the eyepiece.

effstop Posted October 31, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted October 31, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I tried to no avail. It’s on its way to Leica in NJ for a CLA. Edited October 31, 2019 by effstop
