sebben Posted October 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I try to use the Lightroom function Enhance Details, I get the error message that it is an unsupported photo. Does any one else have this issue?
Advertisement Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Hi sebben, Take a look here Enhance Details Lightroom - Leica M10 D. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
designdog Posted October 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2019 Are you working with a raw file (dng)? Don't think this works with jpegs...
Gregm61 Posted October 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) The enhanced details tab is viewable in ACR so it should work with M10 raw files. I’ve tried it a few times with dng files from my M262 but I see little difference in the updated file. To the OP, are you using the latest updated version of ACR? LocalHero1953 Posted October 17, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 17, 2019 I've used it with CL files and it makes a difference where you need clearer fine details.
sebben Posted October 17, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted October 17, 2019 I figured out the issue. I had compressed the DNGs with Lightroom previously this is why the enhance detail mode doesn’t work. It’s fine with original DNGs. Doesn’t seem to make much difference since the M10 files are already so good at the pixel level. Thanks for helping out. J.Nordvik Posted October 19, 2019 Share #6 Posted October 19, 2019 Enhanced Details makes a big difference on M10 because it do not have an AA-filter. Since the M10 have so few MP there will be lots of artifacts like false color or moire. Even more so on M8 and M9 of course. The picture capture have to be perfect. In focus and no camera movement, and a good lens.

ericborgstrom Posted October 19, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 19, 2019 On the Mac you need a grafik processor that works with Apple’ s Metal. My 2011 iMac does not.
pedaes Posted October 19, 2019 Share #9 Posted October 19, 2019 The "Enhance' slider is just a shortcut, you can reproduce the same effects with other sliders, mainly Contrast.
Stuart Richardson Posted October 19, 2019 Share #10 Posted October 19, 2019 Pedaes, I am nearly certain that is not the case. Enhance details is a different demosaicing algorithm which uses machine learning to do a better calculation at the expense of a heavier computing load.
