You could have a look at the Canon R mechanism. "R" does NOT mean "Reflex" here

I have just sent mine off for adjustment for the third time in 18 months. It probably should have gone sooner every time, I am just not used to thinking about it because it never seemed necessary for my M9. Hopefully there is a simple explanation but I would be interested in hearing if others have similar experience? What prompted you to think that the mechanism was off? So I made a test, comparing photos focused with the rangefinder and live view at different distances. The ones with the rangefinder were horribly out of focus. This could be either me or the rangefinder, so I asked my dealer who confirmed the mechanism was off and sent it in for service. It is now back from service and works beautifully again. As I wrote in my concluding post, the assumption is that it went out of alignment due to an external event, e.g. a drop. The fact that it has happened so frequently is considered to be an unlucky coincidence, not due to some inherent weakness in the rangefinder mechanism. budjames Posted October 31, 2019 Share #25 Posted October 31, 2019 I have two M10s since November 2017. One was factory-converted to the M10P. No focusing problems with either of them. EAES Posted November 15, 2019 Share #26 Posted November 15, 2019 Well after a couple of drops, my M10 was out of alignment on the vertical, quick fix at Leica, not bad consider how I use my cameras, the picture is more important then the tool.
