christopherhong Posted October 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica has just released what might be the most beautiful camera camera in the world: the ultra-limited edition Leica M10-P SC Asset, which is finished in pure sandblasted brass. The camera comes with what is undoubtedly the most beautiful kit lens in the world, the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens, which also comes in a stunning brass finish with a vintage round lens hood. Just like the brass beauties of old, the body and lens will discolor and age over time, ensuring that every single Leica M10-P SC Asset becomes a completely unique, one-of-a-kind camera. "Every single Leica M10-D SC Asset" doesn't amount to very many, though; there are only 30 of these cameras being produced – and they're only available from Leica's Thailand outlets. That's because this project is a collaboration between Leica and high-end Thai real estate company, SC Asset. Its CEO, Natthaphong Khunakornwong, is a lifelong camera collector, and according to News Plus he invited Leica Thailand head Danai Sorakraikitikul (whose family owns Prada Jewelry) to work together. The Leica M10-P SC Asset and "kit lens" Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens, both in sandblasted brass Beneath all the gloss, this is the same Leica M10-P body with a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor, 3-inch touchscreen with 1.04 million dots, ISO100-50,000 range and 5 frames per second burst mode – but slightly subpar JPGs and no video capability. It does, however, feature "the quietest shutter of any M Camera ever", possibly because you'll be left speechless at how much money you've just spent. Actually, snarkiness aside, that might not be true – there doesn't seem to be a price listed for the Leica M10-P SC Asset anywhere. Possibly because if you have to ask, you can't afford it. If any of our readers happen to be passing a Leica Store on their next trip to Bangkok, please do pop in and let us know how many kidneys we need to sell. 2
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! a.noctilux Posted October 15, 2019 Share #6 Posted October 15, 2019 No. Happily, only 30 units made and we may not see them operating or in operation much. Nice for Leica Camera though having some more cash 😉.
Viv Posted October 15, 2019 Share #7 Posted October 15, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) The lens front glass should also be coated with brass. After all, these vulgar objects will not be used for photography. 1

AndreasG Posted October 15, 2019 Share #11 Posted October 15, 2019 (edited) A sandblasted brass surface unless coated certainly will oxidize fast, I wonder how it looks after a couple of months? Probably kind of natural "Safari" aging? Edited October 15, 2019 by AndreasG
OR120 Posted October 15, 2019 Share #12 Posted October 15, 2019 I can't really remember but doesn't this look like a Jim Marshall?
Stein K S Posted October 19, 2019 Share #13 Posted October 19, 2019 While all three of my M´s are silver..., I probably find the matte black M M-A (127) to have the coolest look of all M´s! The OPˋs proposal is far from being even close... 😉

Herr Barnack Posted October 19, 2019 Share #15 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) Nice looking? Yes, IMHO. Do I want one? No. At $29,331 USD, I cannot see the value of the $17,342 up charge vs. a black M10-P and a black 50 Summilux. These cameras are not intended for actual photographers, though. These sets are fetish items for fondler/collectors, shrink wrappers and others with pimp money. Vulgar? No, not really. Here is Leica's gold standard of vulgarity, pictured in the full measure of its vomit inducing opulence: https://www.japancamerahunter.com/2015/07/camera-geekery-leica-mp-gold-60-years-prc/ 🤮 In the category of fugliness, honorable mention goes to: https://photo-arsenal.hk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=794 Thank God for plain old black and chrome finish M cameras! Long may they live. Edited October 19, 2019 by Herr Barnack 3
Gelatino Posted October 19, 2019 Share #16 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) Gold for 60th anniversary of PRC, should be platinium for 70th. Edited October 19, 2019 by Gelatino

Bare skin to brass contact is most decidedly not permitted with this camera. Owners are required by Thai law to wear one of the 30 sets of limited edition lily white elbow length "SC Asset" silk opera wedding gloves. Sold separately at $10,000 USD per pair, of course. IMO.
