M9 Meter Memory Lock not working

I just noticed that the meter memory lock is not working on my M9, when in manual mode.

It works just fine when in aperture.

Camera is not set on soft.

Any ideas? I have a photograpic trip on October 19th, such a bad timing...

Do you mean that the camera doesn't lock the ISO (when in auto ISO) in manual mode? 

I think this is normal? Mine doesn't do this either. I thought AE lock only works in Aperture priority mode?

probably means half press to lock exposure, then recompose and full press to shoot

Subjects and situations of this sort can be overcome very easily even in aperture priority mode, using metering memory lock.

I got confused the same way once, after switching back and forth between the M9 and the M typ240 for a few days, as the latter does allow AE lock via ISO in manual mode.
