Zero9 Posted October 8, 2019 Share #1  Posted October 8, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just got a leica m10, upgraded to firmware 2.7.5 I configured the camera to shoot in DNG+JPG, and keep the JPG as monochrome (so I can see it better when focusing using EVF).  After shooting for 2 days, I tried to import the photos into my ipad pro. I tried using both:  usb-c SD card reader, or Leica Foto App. However, I can only see & import the b+w JPG files into Ipad photos. Ipad is running on the latest iOS (13.1.2)  The only way to see the DNG file is by going into the SD card folder, but it still does not show any preview on the DNG file.  Do you guys have similar issue? And how do you import the DNG files into ipad for editing?  Thanks

jdlaing Posted October 9, 2019 Share #2 Â Posted October 9, 2019 There is a Lightroom App that is free and should work with .dng. Look in the App Store.

It seems that I cannot batch import the DNG files into lightroom mobile (I can only import one by one). The weird thing is, my ipad pro can see & import M9 or leica q's dng file into photos without any problem

NathanD Posted October 9, 2019 Share #6  Posted October 9, 2019 Hi there,  Im currently travelling with my m10 and just my phone.  When I import (using the Leica fotos app) the DNGs show up as grayscale ( using the JPEG preview) until I hit edit in the IOS Photos app. Then they render as colour. Hope this helps.  Nathan

Zero9 Posted October 9, 2019 Author Share #8  Posted October 9, 2019 Thanks for all replies, I found a way using Leica Foto App. Once I connected my Ipad to the camera, I can click on one of the bw jpg, then I can choose to download jpg, dng, or jpg+dng.  I guess this is (so far) the best way to do import dng into ipad. There is still no batch import yet.....
Photon42 Posted October 9, 2019 Share #9 Â Posted October 9, 2019 Just toying a bit with the new iPadOS. You can just mount a SD card reader with the Leica SD card inserted. Then use the Files App to access it. All files, one file, only DNGs, only JPEGs. Sort after type. Your call. But then .... my M10D of course cannot be accessed anymore wirelessly with the Fotos app after updating to iPadOS. I ranted elsewhere, so I stay calm now., Â
