Michael Geschlecht Posted October 10, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 10, 2019 Hello Z. Welcome to the Forum. I am sorry that this happened. You should report this to Leica in Wetzlar so that if anything comes to them for service, etc. That they will know that it is yours. Also notify the Police at both ends of your train trip. And any Insurance Companies that you have that might be relevent. Hopefully this might help to get your things back. Best Regards, Michael

Best Regards, Michael Hello Michael et al., Italian police managed to recover my stolen Leica gear and I've picked it up from Questura di Milano today. Needless to say, I'm over the moon with the result 🙂 Best, Z.

Stealth3kpl Posted October 14, 2019 Share #7 Posted October 14, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Oh, wow that's great. What a relief. Twice I've left my Leica in a bag in a restaurant to find it still there on my return (once a good couple of hours after I'd left) so I've some idea of the relief you're experiencing. mrpanic Posted October 14, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted October 14, 2019 Thank you all. It's a miracle that my stuff was recovered, especially since it was stolen in Milan, so props to the Italian police! The funny thing is that even my film rolls from the trip to Florence were still in the bag 😆

Pete Hi Pete, Are you by any chance based in the Nordics? It sounds like something that would happen there. I remember one time a colleague in Oslo leaving his brand new iPhone on the table in Starbucks so that nobody would sit there until he got his coffee 😆 Guess what, nobody touched the phone.

I actually live in the UK but both those incidents I referred to were in the U.S. The first in a small town on the east side of the Wind River Range, and the second in Boise, Montana.
