geetee1972 Posted October 6, 2019 Share #1  Posted October 6, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently acquired a more or less new copy of this lens (150 actuations) for about $2000 and a copy of the adapter for $300. I wasn't sure I could really justify the acquisition to be honest; I'd already tried the Summicron 100 and while I loved it, even second hand it was $4k and I didn't think it was that much better than the 70 Summicron to justify such a big outlay. This Hasselblad lens however is half the price and proving to be absolutely stellar. CS works but only up to 1/750s. I think if you can upgrade it to 'orange dot' hardware to access 1/2000s but I suspect in doing that it will also no longer work on the S! It's fast and very accurate in focusing, which isn't something I was always sure of with the 100 Cron. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 Hi geetee1972, Take a look here Hasselblad HC100 2.2 lenses on the S. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LeicaR10 Posted October 6, 2019 Share #2  Posted October 6, 2019 GeeTee1972,  Your photographs are simply superb.  I really like the second and third photographs best;  the second photograph has a dreamy, soft look, yet something about it causes me to stop, look and think.  A compelling portrait if you will.  Same goes for your last photograph.  It might be a bridge too far, but it would have been really interesting to test the S 70, 100 against the Hasselblad lens with the same subjects at the same time.  Then decide which look and feeling will help you create these most excellent portraits.  IMO, your photographs are amazing!  r/ Mark
Photon42 Posted October 7, 2019 Share #3 Â Posted October 7, 2019 Totally agree on the 2.2/100. I do enjoy the 1/750 sync speed when needed. Only relatively new lenses can be updated ... but I guess you checked your copy. Only difference is that Live view does not work with (my) Hassy and Contax lenses on the 007 - not relevant for me. Contrast vs Phase Detect AF, I think.

Do you mean the Live view autofocus does not work with the adapted lenses or the camera does not let you see the images in live view on the screen at all? thanks.
Photon42 Posted October 7, 2019 Share #5 Â Posted October 7, 2019 AF does not work. You can focus manually, no problem. I think this is because HC and Contax lenses have been built with phase detection autofocus in mind. The X1D faces the same issue with HC lenses, which aren't updated. Most cannot due to memory size limitations in older lenses.
