Electroshocks Posted September 10, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am new to Leica and I have a gently used M9. When I bought it I was shown an exposure tool using an arrow and a dot. Since that one time I have not been able to get that red dot to appear no matter how I adjust aperture or ISO. Can someone offer a trick to using the arrow and dot?
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Hi Electroshocks, Take a look here That red dot in my field of view.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted September 10, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) Welcome, You may have M9's manual (which can be loaded from Leica's website link here ....) These LED are only used when in manual mode. Take off the lens cap, ISO 160 Set the shutter dial to about 125, 250 or 500 if outside Set the aperture to about F/11 A gentle touch (to first step) of the shutter button ... From those settings, you may begin to learn how that's for. Edited September 10, 2019 by a.noctilux
ianman Posted September 10, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2019 I would add... - switch the camera on (after inserting charged battery.... into the camera) - make sure the lens is facing away from you.
kentishrev Posted September 11, 2019 Share #4 Posted September 11, 2019 Do you have your shutter speed set to A? If so, the fit doesn’t show as you’re not setting exposure. If you set the shutter speed dial to any number, the arrows and dots come back into play.
