JimBo Posted September 7, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) The OIS menu option seen on the Q is missing from the QP. I know OIS is not really needed with a 28mm lens, but I couldn’t find anything from Leica about this difference between the 2 models.
Advertisement Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Hi JimBo, Take a look here OIS for still photos missing from QP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
BXL Gotham Posted September 7, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2019 Trust me it may not be “needed” but it sure is beneficial and appreciated. Low light 1/8th shots with OIS become very doable. On the higher MP Q2 it’s even more valuable as Shake can worsen the quality of the exposure.
LexS Posted September 7, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2019 I think all QP have firmware 3.1. If not, install FW 3.1 and maybe it is in there?

It should be there, are you looking at the Favorites menu maybe instead of the main menu? press menu twice to go to the main menu and check there.
JimBo Posted September 7, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted September 7, 2019 OK thanks! I did find it in the menu - not where I expected. I guess what also threw me off was this review: https://cameradecision.com/review/Leica-Q-P They claim there's no OIS in the QP....

Someone copied the data sheet and wasn't very careful. I would avoid such websites, they are not very helpful.

DP Review is a much more reliable site.
