Advertisement Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hi billh, Take a look here Trial CD covers. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted August 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 1, 2007 Bill - They are both lovely. I prefer the greater simplicity of #1. Further, the image says dreams and desires to me without the text. However, to make the disc more salable you might very well need the added text.
samwells Posted August 2, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 2, 2007 Bill: For once, I'm going to disagree with Stuart! I feel that, since we are looking at a piece of homogenous graphic design, rather than just a photograph, the typematter is as important; the extra line of type on no. 2, indented as it is to the right, gives me more of a feeling of 'floating', echoed visually by the red petal. Perhaps this feeling of 'direction, might be furthe emphasised by moving the artiste's name at the base a centimeter further to the right, thus giving it even more of a horizontal 'stagger'? Just my nickel's worth! cheers: Sam

It is absolutely KITSCH, but 150% perfect kitsch, nearly a 5-fold lethal dose ! it will sell well - I am shure. I can already see the grandmas melting whilst regarding (and buying) it... And THAT is, what counts for you, isn´t it ?! Dirk
fotografr Posted August 2, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 2, 2007 I'll weigh in with Stuart on this. I think the photo says it all and there is no need for the additional text. I also feel the Dreams and Desires text throws the cover off balance. It might work if moved to a different place, but I'm not sure where that might be. I'd just go with the simplicity.
