Does anyone know if there are any LTM versions of the Kodak Aero Ektar 178mm ?

Aero Ektars came as surplus off some aerial cameras and are afaik adapted. So if you find one adapted to LTM or make your own Adapter you are set.

that's why they use this lens still today. But 178 mm on Leica (or full-frame nowadays) is a Little bit too long for such works. If you are shooting 4x5'' it's fine and if you mind the radioacitve glass the Dallmeyer Pentac 1:2.9/8.5 '' is Pretty good, too.

Bear in mind these lenses are quite heavy , over 1 kg , closer to 1,5kg.

It is a losing effort. Aerial lenses are just horrible for land-based, small format use.

You'll need a lens bridge to support such a heavy lens.
