gdi Posted August 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Unfortunately, I bought numerous CV adapters which, evidently, can't be coded. Are the Leitz the only ones that work - other than the custom, Milich ones? Is there a known reliable source for them? Thanks!

Gary, The only Leitz adapters that can be coded are the older variety which do not have the cut-out along the bottom of the flange - this is where the coding recesses would go. They can be found on eBay, you just have to make certain that there is a picture in the auction. Generally, they were only available in the 28/90mm version though I have seen some for the 35/135mm frames as well. When found, these adapters tend to be expensive (as opposed to the run of the mill variety from China and Voigtlander). The Milich adapters are extremely well made, can be coded and if you add the acquisition cost of a Leitz adapter and add the US$25.00 you'll pay to John to code it, you might as well bite the bullet and buy the Milich adapter........ Best, Jan Thanks for the info Jan - I have been able to find a couple of old adapters - I may send them off to JM to modify.
carstenw Posted August 2, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 2, 2007 Be careful about the Leitz adapters. There are both those with and without the cutout. I managed to get one with a cutout early, without realising. Recently, I found a 28/90 without, and am using it with my CV15, whereas my older one, which was 35/135 anyway, is being used with my ancient 35/3.5 Elmar M39. Thanks I have been careful to get those without the cutout - they have 3 notches, though.
