jaapv Posted August 27, 2019 Share #22 Posted August 27, 2019 it is starting to sound more and more like an intermittent battery contact. Have you looked into the battery compartment/cleaned the contacts? If so, a bit of rubber foam to push the battery in slightly deeper might make an emergency solution. maxfairclough Posted August 29, 2019 Share #23 Posted August 29, 2019 This sounds like a rollercoaster of emotions. I hope this all works out. In all honesty I would be fighting for a new camera body altogether as this issue is going to keep happening it seems. I agree with Jaapv that is sounds like a battery contact issue, however this is something you can't continue to keep happening. Try and get the entire body replaced. Patrick1955 Posted August 29, 2019 Share #24 Posted August 29, 2019 I had an intermittent problem with my M10 when it was quite new, that took some time to diagnose and fix. The camera would "brick" with no power / no start / menu etc a few minutes after being turned on. Thereafter, it would stay broken for some time and then was able to turn it on again, but the recovery time varied from minutes to a day. There was lots of discussion about batteries and SD cards, all of which I could demonstrate (through experimentation, changing batteries, SD cards etc between my camera and other M bodies in the Leica showroom) were not the common denominator. It turned out to be a crack in a circuit board, that would open up when the camera warmed when turned on. It was only successfully diagnosed after a second trip to the factory and the circuit board replaced. Perfect thereafter. It did take a bit of effort to get Leica customer care to take the problem as serious and not just an idiot not correctly formatting an SD/charging a battery. Good luck and I hope your problem is resolved quickly. I would recommend you send it back to Germany
thecandidguy Posted August 29, 2019 Author Share #25 Posted August 29, 2019 Update for this issue, leica germany responded my email, here is what they said as generic as it sound, i just couldnt agree with her, since i cannot even turn on the camera how am i supposed to update the firmware Dear Mr. Verby, Thank you very much for your email, please excuse the delayed reply. Like all Leica products, your M10 has been manufactured in elaborate craftsmanship and under the highest standards of precision, performance and quality. Each Leica is a product that has been manually manufactured to the last detail and is tested for perfect performance and functionality until the high quality requirements for which Leica is world-renowned are met. All the more, I regret that you experienced problems with your camera, your disappointment is understandable. Today’s digital cameras are complex machines in which hardware and software have to work together optimally. Sometimes issues with the firmware might cause malfunctions that are not immediately obvious since they often are triggered by certain settings or usage of a product. We found that a bug in the M10 firmware can cause it to freeze and fail to save images correctly on the SD card. According to your fault description this might be the case with your camera, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We successfully concluded the last field tests and will be able to release the fix in form of a new firmware update shortly. We expect to make it available on our homepage by the beginning of next week. I kindly ask for a little more patience and will inform you as soon as the update can be downloaded. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with. Kind regards [name removed] Complaint Manager i replied to her include the leica singapore team cced, leica singapore tech guy telephone me afterward told me to bring the camera to singapore to be incpected and he will arrange if i can get a loaner while my camere being repaired more soon...
