CL shutter count

Actuation is important is judging the overall condition of a used camera, generally a low number actuations has had less use. the body condition shows the physical use as does the cleanliness of the of the body (check the dial for junk and dust)

In used sales since digital cameras began listing
actuations this has become a significant indicator of wear.

Wear of what? If only the electronic shutter has been used the shutter count will be zero, yet the shutter button mechanism may be worn to the bone. You could just as well demand to know the number of times the battery has been changed. With quite a few cameras including Leica the count cannot be determined anyway, making " low shutter count" the equivalent of "one careful owner, driven only on Sundays"

I find that doubtful, at least amongst knowledgable users. It's like the megapixel number being considered the be all and end all of what is better. For naïve users, sure .. they want a single point reference to say yea or nay. But technology is far more nuanced than that in reality.

Doesn't matter. You could get shutter counts for M8 and M9 cameras. You can't for SL and CL cameras. And many other cameras as well.

Can't get a shutter count for any mechanical film camera either. It never made a difference at all ... The fact that you can get a datapoint like this doesn't necessarily mean that it is meaningful. Show me the statistics which supports the notion that a high shutter count within the bounds of most cameras' average use indicates a likelihood of failure post-purchase on the used market. :D

Shutter count is mostly just another irrelevant marketing ploy.
