Advertisement Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Hi kuddel, Take a look here alpin pasture, clouds and a vanishing fence. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted July 31, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 31, 2007 Great sky & clouds contrast : maybe I'd prefer a more horizontally extended frame... the fence crossing the picture is so distinctive... ....Allgau ?
biglouis Posted July 31, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 31, 2007 I really like the framing and the contrast. So many different textures and tones. What camera, lens and film did you use? LouisB
Guest Motivfindender Posted July 31, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 31, 2007 Made with a 4/3 system, I guess... Dirk
stuny Posted August 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 1, 2007 Andreas - Gorgeous with its contrast, tonal range and gradations, composition and real and induced depth.
kuddel Posted August 1, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted August 1, 2007 Luigi, Louis, Dirk and Stuart, thank you all for your comments. Luigi, I suppose you mean the Allgäu in southern Germany, but it is not. The location of the picture is in South Tyrol (Alto Adige, Italy) in the mountains east of Meran (Merano). I took the picture while hiking to the Kreuzjoch (Giogo de Croce) from Vöran (Verano) and the peaks you can see are Iffinger (Picco Ivigna) and others over the area of Meran 2000. Louis, I took the picture with Digilux 3 and the Leica D Vario Elmarit 14-50 mm at ISO 100, 1/100 sec., f 8, focal length 18 mm (equi. 36 mm). jacksparrow Posted August 2, 2007 Share #9 Posted August 2, 2007 You mean you didn't use any photoshop filters and masks to enhance the sky and the foreground? in any case, it looks very nice to me.
kuddel Posted August 3, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted August 3, 2007 Louis, Ivan and Eugenio, thank you very much for your comments. Eugenio, sorry for an misunderstnding. I did not want to say that I made no post processing on this picture. Indeed I used Lightroom for this. I made colour to B&W transformation there. To work on the contrasts and tones of the picture I changed colours and also WB settings in a sense like channel mixer in PS. And of course I used sharpening. macos Posted August 3, 2007 Share #11 Posted August 3, 2007 Andreas, this is a really great scenery pic. I also like the composition, especially the fence. The clouds are very vivid, on some rare days they are like these in this area. Very suitable postprocessing there, I assume something like a simulated red-orange filter? kuddel Posted August 5, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted August 5, 2007 Marcus, thank you very much for your nice comment. I am glad you like the picture. You are right, I did try that type of filter. I lack some experience in channel mixing for B&W conversion, but it is interesting to experimentalise and to see what come out of it. I also changed the White Balance after converting the picture to B&W a little bit. To me it seems that this increased contrast in this picture.
