Advertisement Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Hi reynoldsyoung, Take a look here Self Code a Voigtlander 12mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stephengilbert Posted July 31, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 31, 2007 You can code the lens so the camera treats it like a WATE, a wide angle tele elmarit. The widest setting available is 16mm, not as wide as the 12, but as close as can be for now. The easiset way to do this is with a Milich adapter, but people have used Leica adapters as well. John Milich makes a screw mount/M adapter with cutouts for the six bit coding. When the appropriate cutout is marked with black paint, the M8 thinks you've mounted a WATE and asks you to choose a 16, 18, or 21mm setting. (See http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/30339-milich-m8-coding.html)

sean_reid Posted July 31, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 31, 2007 For color work, I would leave that lens uncoded and use Cornerfix. The 16 mm corrections don't begin to correct it. Cheers, Sean

Cheers, Sean Except that Cornerfix doesn't work on a MAC... :(
rwfreund Posted July 31, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 31, 2007 Except that Cornerfix doesn't work on a MAC... :( Use bootcamp or parallel, then you can run a whole bunch of pc specific stuff.
reynoldsyoung Posted August 1, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted August 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many thanks...you all are very helpful. In touch with John. The lens does very well uncoded...fabulously, in fact. Reynolds
