scjohn Posted July 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased John Milich's adapter for the cv 15. it comes with nicely machined "holes" that I can use to self-code. I believe there was a thread on this. What pattern should I use for the CV 15 and what kind of paint should I use? As always any help and advice would be GREATLY appreciated! doubice Posted July 30, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 30, 2007 ..... what kind of paint should I use? I used model railroading paint - have a good supply at home as we all need more than one hobby. Best is to use paint which is water based, for easier clean-up. Gloss black and gloss white worked for me. Good luck, Jan
farnz Posted July 30, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 30, 2007 Stephen, To build on Helene's response you need to code your CV15 as the Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21 (No. 11626). Pete.
scjohn Posted July 30, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted July 30, 2007 Thank you everyone. This is sure a fine forum! Actual knowledge... what a novelty!
grdglass Posted July 30, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 30, 2007 And to add some more, when you have it coded, a menu will pop-up giving you a choice of 16-18-21mm. Select 16mm for the CV15. It seems that certain paints work for some people and other paints are needed by others. Some have luck with glossy black and white nail polish. Some need matte black and white model paint. Some must use black and white, and some use only black. Don't get discouraged if one method doesn't work for you. Just try the others. Be certain to completely fill in the holes. Good luck. Select 16mm for the CV15. This only happens if Lens Recognition is set On + UV/IR, at least with the latest firmware (1.107), I did not try it with 1.102.
