StS Posted July 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Today 300 years ago, the organ-builder Arp Schnitger was buried. According to my sources (I wasn't there for obvious reasons), he was not only an excellent craftsman and organ-tuner but also a talent in organizing a workshop; he founded the largest organ-workshop in Hamburg 1682, selling his organs mainly to Northern Europe but also to Portugal and one even to Brasil. Main Church St. Jacobi, organ by Arp Schnitger 1689-1693, last renovation by Jürgen Ahrendt* 1990-1993.
