Hello!

Maybe some opinions, tips.

It's about printing black and white photos on Epson SC-P800 from Lightroom (or Photoshop) using Epson drivers and Advanced B & W (NO RIPs).

What are your experiences in your taste?

Ah, I'm sorry, just for Leica  BLACH and WHITE photos. :-)

Is it better to print using Advanced B & W or using the ICC paper profile (for example, Ilfort Galerie Prestige Smooth Perl).

Your experience, tips ...

Thank you.

Well, the obvious first answer is: try both, compare and draw your own conclusions! Here you can find a very good image for testing, besides your own ones.

FWIW (I have the 600, not the 800), I came to the conclusion that the 'normal' print method gave results just as good as those with ABW. And with ABW, you lose the ability to use softproofing (which both Photoshop and Lightroom provides); also the control over print toning is very rudimentary an inexact in ABW.

What one definitely needs is a well-calibrated display to start with.

Agree with elgenper. But I now use ImagePrint, which provides better results and more ease of use and flexibility than either, of course involving many other print and workflow variables.
