Very nice picture/motive! But looks somewhat «polarized» or something... (using old darkroom language)?

The images in this thread are compelling - a strong argument for acquiring a 28 Summilux.

They are indeed! Not sure if I could justify it though since I just bought a Q2. May see if I can swing a 28 elmarit and then add a 21 or 24 ‘lux down the line. Too many beautiful lenses to choose from...

Thanks to everyone posting in this thread! Great images. Keep them coming b

@matted The 28 Elmarit is an outstanding little lens - it is small and feather light for travel or hiking and its image quality is fantastic.

The 21mm f/3.4 SEM is also truly excellent, equal to the 28 Elmarit in image quality.  The 21 SEM is a little on the slow side for low light shooting, but it excels as a landscape and travel lens.

Everyone loves the Summilux lenses for their image quality and high speed, but the prices are painful or simply not doable for many photographers. .  Fortunately, there are more affordable options in the M lens lineup that give up nothing in terms of image quality.

Thanks for the thoughts! There is definitely something very appealing about the "wide angle shallow depth of field" look but the Q2 is more than capable in this regard so perhaps those are the way to go. My wallet will certainly thank me.

In the meantime I shall continue to enjoy this thread. Cheers.

Definitely not uniform across the frame at max aperture and close distance, example here is un-cropped, shot with M240 and Summilux M 28mm at max aperture.  I think the overall result is is pleasing.

The corner degradation is irrelevant as primary purpose of the fast lens is available low light photography.  Anyone looking for perfection across the frame shall either stop down or use different lens.

I love to use my 28lx lens, especially wide open. Lovely rendering and resolution and contrast at the same time. M10M, 28 Summilux at 1.4.
