mikej Posted July 20, 2019 Share #21 Posted July 20, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recommend taking a look at the new Gitzo mini-traveler https://www.gitzo.com/us-en/tripods/mini-traveler/. Works well with my X-Vario. I also used the Leica set previously, but had problems with the rig staying tightly assembled and attached. No such issues with the Gitzo. Cheers, Mike

reynoldsyoung Posted August 24, 2019 Share #22 Posted August 24, 2019 Blows me away with the ease of this thing...don't leave home without it!!! https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1472791-REG/joby_jb01566_gorillapod_3k_pro_kit.html
mbphotox Posted August 24, 2019 Share #23 Posted August 24, 2019 I know, Leica customers aren't known for being "price-sensitive", but I would recommend the Feisol tabletop TT-15. https://www.feisol.net/home/feisol-mini-tripod-tt-15b.html If you already have a small ballhead, it's even cheaper, super light and stable. Sure, you have to find suitable stands to set it on to avoid the constant frog view perspective, but that shouldn't be an issue in cities. jbripley Posted August 24, 2019 Share #24 Posted August 24, 2019 I’ve been really happy with the Sirui 3T-35 as a very compact travel tripod. With the telescoping middle taken off and the ball head attached directly, it fits just fine in a PD Sling 5L bag.
