I studied photography at Napier in Edinburgh, 75-78, I even think one of your shots of the "New Town" might be Great King Street where I lived for a few years.

This shot brought back a particular memory; the Fruitmarket Gallery was in one of the buildings on the right, there was a printmakers' workshop inside where we could rent darkrooms which I often did after graduating;  when making long exposures everyone kept a Train Timetable beside the enlarger to help avoid the shakes as the entire building would rumble when an express train came through :)

Hmmm...great series, but you already took all the pictures I was planning on taking during my upcoming visit at the beginning of August! Now what do I do...??? :(

+1  Really nice series!  I love them all, but the B&W ones just seemed to grab my attention more and make me linger longer.  Thanks so much for posting.

Oddly enough, the only rentable darkrooms in Edinburgh (I believe) are in the Stills Gallery in Cockburn street about 50m from the Fruitmarket gallery. Lovely people.

the Lothian bus service is exceptionally well organised. We pruchased a Ridacard on the very first day and managed our trips solely with bus services,
