cbretteville Posted June 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 27, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Panasonic pages for FW updates has a link to what should be a description of the update procedure from a Leica camera body. This link takes you to the L-Mount landing page. I suspect the procedure is to copy the file to a memory card and turne the camera on after having inserted a fresh battery, but I may be wrong. Does anyone have a description or a link to it? Thanks, Carl
Advertisement Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Hi cbretteville, Take a look here Lumix lens FW update prodecdure from a Leica body?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
CharlesL Posted June 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2019 That is the usual procedure from the several manufacturers whose updates I have done. Don't see any risk of harm for a lens update.

You are right. I have just upgraded the Lumix 24-105 from the Leica SL by following the instruction for the camera firmware upgrade. The Lumix lens firmware add a line in the "Camera information" menu on the SL. Quite easy. Welcome, dear visitor! rfunnell Posted August 17, 2019 Share #4 Posted August 17, 2019 Does anyone know where the firmware for the Lumix 24-105 can be found ? Or is it included in the Leica SL latest firmware . Thanks
erudolph Posted August 17, 2019 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2019 Lumix S 24-105 and S 70-200 firmware can be downloaded here FWIW, I couldn't find the change log on the above website, but I did find one on a blogger's website. The changes noted for the 24-105 are "Improved the performance of O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer)." For the 70-200, the change is the same, plus FW update 1.1 adds support for the two new teleconverters. Updating on a CL, the procedure is the same as for updating camera FW, as previous posters have said. There is an additional menu item under Camera Information for updating the lens. Thanks In case you have not found it, here it is:https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/dsc/download/index4.html# I just downloaded a firmware update for the 70-200 and this worked perfectly. There is also an update for the 24-105.
jrp Posted October 19, 2019 Share #7 Posted October 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Sigma 45mm f2.8 also has a firmware update (to better report power consumption to SL, eg). Remember to switch off the Bluetooth to enable firmware updating on the Panasonic S1/R cameras.
