andybarton Posted July 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Dad has decided to retire and sell the shop. The handover comes on Tuesday. So, this morning I drove 200 miles to take this snap of them (and my two brothers), on their last Saturday. And then I drove back. The business has been in the family since the mid-fifties, so this really is the end of an era. Shame about Nr 1 brother's eyes... Advertisement Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Hi andybarton, Take a look here My Mum and Dad's last Saturday in their shop. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
topoxforddoc Posted July 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2007 Andy, It must be sad for them after all these years. I hope they have a long and happy Retirement. Best wishes, Charlie
azzo Posted July 28, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2007 What caught me most is your mum's look towards your father and him looking back at her....it says it all. A lovely capture Andy, and like Charlie says, I wish them both a very Long and a Happy retirement. Regards, Ivan
stunsworth Posted July 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2007 The end of an era Andy. Though it must be tough trying to run a shop like this with all the DIY warehouses that there are these days. You've captured a tender moment. I see you all got your hair from your father not your mother <grin>
andybarton Posted July 28, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted July 28, 2007 Cheers, guys. I had left my 28 on my shelf, so had nothing between my 19 and the 60, with which this was taken. Which was a pity - brain fade, I reckon! Not quite sure where I got the wide mouth frog face from, though (I'll get rid of the caste on this one before I send it to my folks)
