Time-lapse and battery life, and ND filter questions

Hi

Playing with my d-lux 7, and have a couple of questions....

1.  I wanted to use the D-Lux 7 to take time-lapse shots indoors.  However, the battery lasts around 2 hours.  I thought I'd plug it in and use the AC power, but as soon as you insert the AC cable, the camera stops charging (if it's switched on).   I can't find an extended battery pack, or even a dummy battery running off the mains, so I can't see a way of doing time-lapse for more than a couple of hours.

2.  Does anyone know which ND filter's work with the camera?  Has anyone used one yet?

Any help appreciated!
