Since the M240 is full frame, it would make sense that the issue only now becomes noticeable.

Allan, I eventually sold my CV 15/4.5 version 2. The only two ways to correct the magenta cast is using Cornerfix (a computer application) or Adobe Flat-Field (a filter for Lightroom from Adobe), but both methods are quite tricky. This is why I sold the lens. Maybe I will buy version 3 one day, that is free from purple/magenta cast or Italian flag or whatever you call it.

On the M9/M240 full frame it's terrible and to me unusable...

My lens is the original mark1 non coupled version and it is probably the best "21mm" lens that I have used from any system BUT that's always on the M8.

Sure,   more than great on the M8. Including digital CL. Course they work well on smaller sensors, just using middle of lens.

But very useable on the M240 (M-P in my case), but have to use Full Frame correction, or Corner Correction if one uses it..bit of a bother, but we might correct a lot of things in post, so not such a pain really.

Even a lot of the Leica lenses/sensors need similar corrections in post...eg M9, etc

Reminds me of the uv-ir filter users on the M8 grizzlers...even though we all used filters endlessly in the film era.

We have to suffer for our art...no work, no gain.

All best...

Try another coding - e.g. 21mm Elmarit (non asph). The WATE has a completely different lens design which is not much prone to produce the magenta shifts. So there is less correction of this issue for the WATE. It may not go away completely with another correction for you 1. version Super Heliar, but may get less obtrusive.

Thanks, it's worth a shot; the choice is either deal with it in post processing or not use it on my M240. I also use the V1 lens on my film Ms and Barnacks (II, IIIg), I've always been satisfied with the results, so I definitely want to keep it.

Hi!

My Leica M240 just came back from Leica-service and have started to show a purple/magenta cast on the right/top side of the frame, depending on which way it is tilted.

Do you guys have any idea what this phenomenon might be? I've used with 7artisans 35/2 and 50/1.1

Really appriciate all the help and thoughts I can get!

Thanks in advance!

Hello          I have the exact same issues with my M240 when using the 7Artisans 35mm f/2.   I have now been using the lens detection set on manual and for the 21mm f/2.8. No more issues with my 7artisans lens have come up.               Hope this helps.

My 3€ for color cast corners... Lens: Voigtlander Color Scopar 21mm f4 LTM + M240

This lens is great on film, but on digital it require a lot work.

Also: is any difference to use Voigtlander LTM to M ring or LEITZ original one?

This issue of the CV 21/3.4 is well documented. Coding the lens as an Elmarit 21/2.8 may help. Otherwise the CV 21/3.5 is free from red edges on M and CL cameras.
