Guest Posted June 9, 2019 Share #50 Posted June 9, 2019 I tried the M10 with Nocktlux today over the right shoulder and under the left arm. Comfortable but just a tad to short. Neil
otto.f Posted June 9, 2019 Share #51 Posted June 9, 2019 (edited) Peak Design Slide pretends that your camera feels lighter when you use these straps. And I can tell you, it’s true. Went with them all the way up to FitzRoy and Torres del Paine carrying an SL and a Mamiya 7ii and of course the weight is the same for your legs when climbing, but not for your shoulder. The silk straps from Artisan and Art are great but not beyond a certain weight, I can manage a Summilux75 on a MM1 with that strap though (although for longer walks I prefer to fiddle it in some way on my backpack harness) Edited June 9, 2019 by otto.f

The standard length strap from AA is too short for this but they make an extra long version.

It is much easier with a slightly longer strap worn across the body. I wear every combo that way now. Just a suggestion. IMO the Noctilux is worth the weight. Cheers—lt I do the exact same thing and it works very well for me. The weight doesn’t bother me and having the extra stops and the quality of the noctilux 0.95 is a real joy for me. james.liam Posted June 9, 2019 Share #54 Posted June 9, 2019 I use a BlackRapid sling strap for my R8, the attachment screws into the tripod mount (with a durable rubber washer to protect the baseplate and secure it to the camera); sits upside-down on my hip and slides along a metal attachment along the strap. Would work as well for the Bricktilux setup.

For me the M + Naughtylux is a posers camera, so having it dangling upside down around the hip area is defeating its purpose, it needs to be in your face "wow look at that guy over there with the M + Noctilux and red strap" lets go get our picture Neil

I believe standard is like 95cm, which for guys over 6' can only be used around the neck or wrapped around wrist. The extra long for AA or Arte Di Mano would fit the bill for you. Or, go with HarryBenz and you can get a custom length. 130-135cm would probably be perfect for you at 6 3 if you wanted to sling the camera cross body. robert_parker Posted June 10, 2019 Share #59 Posted June 10, 2019 (edited) It's strange how the mood can take you with these things... I have happily walked round Paris with a DMR + 90AA + 50 'lux and not really noticed it (mind you I've also walked around with a Pentax 67 and 11Kg of gear in a Case Logic camera bag, so I may be a glutton for punishment...)... Based on limited experience with Noctilux, I find the v4 f1.0 seems to ride on the camera nicely, whereas the 0,95 seems heavier and maybe a little harder to balance. That being said, in both cases I tend to keep the camera in the hand to avoid strain on the lens mount but I know a number of people, particularly with the v4 who just carry it around as normal. The reason behind the first line of this post is that I've also turned up in my hotel room in Paris, looked through my gear, decided that I can't be bothered and gone out with a D-Lux 5.... 😉 Edited June 10, 2019 by robert_parker
