Anything different, or new, is going to bother someone. Example: Some Leica users still think that Black Chrome is ridiculous. Other Leica shooters love Black Chrome.

No reptiles died in the making of this Kravitz Design edition.

I am not a follower of Mr. Kravitz, and cannot name any of his songs, but I see the artistic design design in this camera, and like it. I like the sepia-colored finish, but would not not pay substantially more than I would for a standard Type 246 Monochrom, and if carrying a sepia-toned camera, would rather that the “leather” be solid shade of brown.

I would much rather have had a chance to buy a Jim Marshall Edition, and would use it, not “collect” it.

It does not bother me that 125 wealthy collectors will have new toys.

Today is a good day to photograph with my standard Monochrom 246, and not let other versions vex me. 😁

Nor the new price.

I wonder why they did it, after marveling Apple‘s marketing for years.

This is it for me, I'm not against special editions as such, but stuff like this is at the other end of the scale of Leica's supposed ethos. This is from the Leica website;

The Leica M-System lets you experience photography in its purest form. Lovers of the art of photography have perfected their skills with its unique combined rangefinder and viewfinder technology for more than 60 years. Fast, discreet and compact – closer to the decisive moment.

Nevermind, from the video it looks like they had a nice party. I wonder if Mr Kravitz brought along a bottle of his limited edition Dom Perignon?

My perception is that most (not all) members of this forum are not stylish, wealthy (actually), or admired for their artistic contributions to society. So, it doesn't surprise me at all that this camera doesn't appeal to them.

If I were cooler, richer, and less bound to societal expectations, I'm confident I'd covet a fun camera like this. Cheers to the lucky few folks whom this camera was intended for! I hope they go to users and not just resale collectors.

If I had made the camera's cosmetics I would like it, but each is alike and conspicuously expensive so I would leave it in the Rolls. :)
