jlancasterd Posted July 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love trying this type of shot, but it doesn't often come off - telegraph poles, overhead power supports and encroaching vegetation all have a habit of getting in the way - not to mention the tendency of carriages to lurch at the critical moment and the problem of finding an open window that doesn't give a view of the back of someone else's head... The Mariazellerbahn is an electrified narrow (metre) gauge railway in the mountains near Linz in Austria. Despite appearances the locomotive is getting on for 100 years old - it was fitted with new bodywork in the late 1950s, but the mechanical and electrical gear is original. leicapages Posted July 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 27, 2007 John, I like this kind of images a lot. I have been taking similar views on the Semmeringbahn, which is the railroad from Vienna to Graz (Austria) that winds over the mountains. Good opportunities for nice images. I have also found out that using a Hasselblad Xpan with its panoramic capability gives great shots.
