Anyone using a portable Ssd storage wi-fi when traveling? One with a slot for a sd-cards, as my  intended use is for back up of files (dng) when more weeks travel without a computer .

I m curious to know any first hand experience. I'm on Mac, OS 10.14 Mojave. I have seen this one  not but specs says it requires OS 10.11-12-13 not sure if it will work on 10.14.

Or a portable HD (cheaper!) is more reliable? Thanks in advance for any answer.

I had the previous version of that drive, with a traditional HD, it worked well for 3 years then died. While it worked I was very happy with it but since it did only last 3 years I wasn't willing to buy another.

Now I use an 8" Kindle Fire with a 120gb expansion card. I use an otg card reader and file manager to import my image files to the Kindle.

I use the 3T HD version. For me, it's neither heavy nor large, but I may be less fussy. I'm still on 10.13 but can't see any reason why it would not function with 10.14 or above.

It might be easier to upgrade the SSD in the mac. I have portable drives and have more or less given up using them.  I think you can get 2Tbyte for a MacBook Air for a little under £500. Then offload them when you return to base.
