paul.bridges.3388 Posted April 24, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 24, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Coming from Sony, I’m used to tweaking RAW files in Lightroom. First step, is lens correction, applying the specific correction profile offered for the RX1RII. With the Q2, no equivalent correction is offered for the DNG files. I assume that a Q2 profile update will be released at some point? Or, are corrections already applied in camera...making this tweak redundant? Thanks in advance! paul
Advertisement Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Hi paul.bridges.3388, Take a look here Lightroom Q2 profiles?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LexS Posted April 24, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) I run all DNG's from the camera through Adobe DNG converter, before putting the photos in Lightroom. No profiles needed in LTR. I have a Q, the dng converter is very fast, do'nt know the large Q2 files. Edited April 24, 2019 by LexS
paul.bridges.3388 Posted April 24, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) Thanks! I just open the Leica raw files in LR. They seem to go through a conversion process via the import. Why the need to convert first? Am I missing a step with my process versus the process that you describe? LexS Posted April 24, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 24, 2019 I don't know if it is really necessary to use DNG converter, just a habit (to be sure it is the 100% DNG standard). I have LTR6.14 "perpetual" and there are no updates since a few years....
sturkel Posted April 24, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 24, 2019 Using Lightroom cc here and the Q2 files do have a set of lens corrections in Lightroom. I use fast sad cards and import direct from the card delete what I don’t care to keep and process the raw files about 1 a minute. Works very well and the options are all there for any correction I might need
Jst13 Posted April 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 24, 2019 Lens correction is embedded in the Dng file so no addidional lens profil in LR is needed. Juergen
