I’m looking to minimally tweak.  Photos out of the SL with 35/1.4 really didn’t need work and that’s what I’m seeking.  Just wondering if there’s a more up to date camera that will give me this rather than sinking another $5k on a 4-year old camera.  On the other hand, if the Sony files need considerable work in post, then it may not be the answer (however forgiving the files are).

Thanks for your help!

You can get an SL for $2600-3200 from Leica stores. May be worth going that route since you liked the camera so much.

Even if the SL2 comes out next month, you may still prefer the SL1 for the low light capabilities you are looking for.

If the SL2 uses the same sensor as the Q2 then re-purchasing the SL1 would make sense for what you are looking for because most likely the ISO performance won't be significantly improved, if at all (assumption based on Q1 vs Q2 comparison).

The SL has superior EVF resolution:-

Sony A7RIII EVF - 3.686 million dots

Leica SL EVF - 4.4 million dots

But not superior to the S1, correct?  Also, I read somewhere that refresh rate matters with the EVF.  I wonder how that compares.  But, the SL fully reads the MF M lens data.  Isn’t this reason enough to go the SL route?
