Jay B Posted April 22, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 22, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm planning on doing more walks with the Q2, since it is so light and easy to carry. Don't want the bulk of a monopod. Anyone have a favorite stick that also has a tripod thread on it? Thanks in advance,

Pyrogallol Posted April 22, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 22, 2019 I have a nice Manfrotto monopod with a Leitz ball and socket head. It could easily be used as a walking pole. No doubt a carbon fibre monopod would be even better.
dau Posted April 22, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 22, 2019 Novoflex has some heads which can be mounted on LEKI poles, or they had them some time ago.
beauport Posted April 23, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 23, 2019 A few I found, though I don't own any of them. https://mountainsforeverybody.com/hiking-poles-with-camera-mount https://www.amazon.com/ProMaster-Monopod-Walking-Stick-Black/dp/B001S3O450
otto.f Posted April 23, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 23, 2019 (edited) Rollei has a very priceworthy tripod, from which you can screw one leg off. It’s carbon and thus very lightweight. The problem with this idea of using ‘monopods’ is that your rubber foot will soon be destroyed, but you can replace it by a spike, three of them are in the same package deal of this Rollei tripod. For me, the only problem is that I don’t like to walk with poles at all. It makes me glide because I divide my weight too much between pole(s) and feet, I prefer to have all my weight on my feet with good shoes. FrancoC Posted April 23, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 23, 2019 I use two of the Novoflex trekking poles (made by Leki), also for long distance walking. The advantage is, that you can extend them to 1,5 m.
