Peter Kilmister Posted April 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) My most used lens on my M10-P is the 50 APO Summicron which is 6 bit coded and always picked up by my previous M240-P. I have my main menu lens detection set to Auto. It says, by detection that I have a 50mm f:/2 lens attached. When I switch on the camera and look through the rangefinder it has frame lines for 135mm lens. This is rather confusing. Luckily I still have reasonably good memory and can picture the scene fairly well. I have cleaned the 6 bit contacts on the lens and the camera. Is this a known problem? Peter Kilmister Posted April 19, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 19, 2019 The lens is correctly clicked into place. The Menu says there is a 50mm attached, so the lens is being recognised by the 6 bit software. However, the frame lines are incorrect for a 50mm lens. I doubt the camera's firmware but it has the latest level.

It is a mechanical problem, not a software problem.
Peter Kilmister Posted April 19, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted April 19, 2019 @LeicaisteThank you for your reply. I'll try cleaning and wiggling the contact between the lens and body and report back.

Peter Kilmister Posted April 19, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted April 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cleaning and wiggling completed ... which took no time at all. I am pleased to announce that I now have the correct frame lines showing. Many thanks for everyone's help on an annoyance.
