Danno_photoguy Posted April 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, After a bit of a wait (they had a hard time opening up the CL), I just got my CL back from Life Pixel. I had them replace the hot mirror with what they call their SuperColor filter (590nm). I am coming up a bit of a learning curve in regards to white balance in Lightroom (the need to adjust the DNG profile), but hope to post some information in regards to how various Leica lenses perform. I have already noticed that the TL 35mm has a minor HotSpot from F8 on, but I hope to see how many M and R lenses perform. More to come. Advertisement Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Hi Danno_photoguy, Take a look here IR Photography with a Leica CL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
frame-it Posted April 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2019 set a custom WB and save that. download DNG profile editor..make a profile and you can load that into LR, apply it to an IR image, save it as a preset and apply during import. Danno_photoguy Posted April 13, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 13, 2019 THANKS, I have done all that but the saving of it as a preset for import. I will look into that.
Danno_photoguy Posted April 13, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted April 13, 2019 By the way, the CL needs to have a new skin applied as part of the conversion, this is what it looks like now. Marac Posted April 13, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 13, 2019 That's pretty funky & loud, just needs some pink spiky hair now and you're all set to roll.
Danno_photoguy Posted April 13, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted April 13, 2019 LOL. I figured if it needed a new skin, let's make a change.
jaapv Posted April 13, 2019 Share #7 Posted April 13, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not quite to my taste, but easily changed when you tire of it There should be a list of IR-hot-spot-free M lenses on GetDPI.com.
Danno_photoguy Posted April 13, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted April 13, 2019 THANKS, that will be very useful. Yes, the skin color is a bit much, but I hope to get a 2nd CL and I wanted to clearly know the IR vs. 'normal'. I think I achieved that.
