Welcome, dear visitor! Michael Geschlecht Posted April 8, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 8, 2019 (edited) Hello 01maciel, Nice photos. That is a very nice Railroad Station. Someone should go there & fix it up AS IT WAS WHEN IT WAS BUILT and then they should use it in a contemporarily useful manner. i am currently doing that with an old Firehouse that I both live in & work in. The Old Firehouse is a historic site, a home, a business, a museum, a library & more. It is a similar construction to the train station. But different. Unfortunately, I do not have the technical ability to post any photos of the Firehouse in any of the various Threads on this Forum. It would be a shame if this Railroad Station was not saved & rehabilitated IN THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS ORIGINALLY BUILT because it is a valuable piece of history as well as being a valuable (NOT only monetarily.) Asset that should be preserved. By the way: Could this be somewhere in Germany? 01maciel Posted April 8, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted April 8, 2019 Hi Michael, thanks for your reply. Yes indeed it is somewhere in Germany / Pommerania. This state belongs to the New Laender of Germany and is one of the poorest states in our federal system and the Deutsche Bahn is unable to cope with. Unfortunately a do-up of the building is a matter of dosh - no money means nothing to fix. There are a few of these decommissioned railway stations. You just need to find them to make some photos. Cheers and good luck with your old firestation (somewhere in Europe?) 01m

Michael Geschlecht Posted April 8, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 8, 2019 (edited) Hello 01m, Not Europe. Altho it is at the Latitude of Capri: It is at the Longitude is Bogota. If you are coming to the New York City Challenge The Firehouse is only 40 kilometers to the Southwest on the local train. Nice but smaller Railroad Station of the same type as the 1 in the photos here. And I would be glad to show both the Railroad Station (A working station) & the Firehouse to you. If you are not coming to the Challenge you are still invited whenever you come to the New York Metropolitan area. Wer da runter will, Freiwillige vor.
