Interesting. What's the source of these spec's?

Review: Voigtlander 50mm 1.2 Nokton E - phillipreeve.net

May 8, 2019 — The actual (measured) focal length of the VM 50 is 49,2mm. Noticeably wider than, per say, a Summicron-M version 4 (52.2mm).

It gets obvious when You use the Nokton. There ist "more" on the photo than with Leica lenses of 50 mm.

Right.

Leica 50ies are often around 53.

Wow! That's new to me. I have seen Ken Rockwell saying that the little 00, 05 or 10 number next to the infinity symbol tells that the focal length of Leica M lenses are spot on, +0.5mm and +1mm respectively. If the actual focal length of Leica M fifties is around 52-54mm, then Ken Rockwell is sharing false facts.

Thanks. I have actually read that review, but forgot the info about focal length there.

The Summilux 50 asph is 51.6, older lenses can be longer, for instance the DR Summicron is 52.

It's on film so nothing for the pixelpeepers, but in this shot the half stop made the difference between handheld or not handheld. I love the nokton 1.2 50 in every terms and the only thing that bothers me that the lux is a tiny little bit smaller, the nokton is really on the edge sizewise.
