It's nice to have matured somewhat as a Leica user - there are Leica tings I actually don't want. This is one of them. My local Leica store had some kind of rare double ASPH 35mm Lux in black for something like 7900 CHF. Seams like this only less rare. But then the new APO in black chrome is sex as xxxx and something I want but can't justify - its ridiculous how expensive that new beauty queen of Summicron APO is - but its still producing the same pictures as a APO 50mm for 5000 €....

Whats the value of such lens ?

If we are talking Summilux M 35mm double Aspherical it could be more than 7900 CHF ( no idea what is exchange rate against euro/ gbp/usd), I am guessing going rate could be more than new Noctilux 50mm.  Auction reported by OP was for a chrome prototype and that is 3/4 million.

In July 2005, we were traveling in Namibia and Botswana.  We went into Zimbabwe to have a look at Victoria Falls and had lunch at the Victoria Falls Hotel.  Very good lunch, fine settings, all in all, a very positive experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.  Then came the bill: Z$ 1,000,000!  It was a very good lunch, and ... everything is relative.  BTW, we have not had another million-dollar lunch since.
